A beautiful 1882 CC better date Carson City Mint liberty head eagle gold piece graded AU 53 by NGC. This Carson City Mint date is seldom ever offered in this grade level, especially having earned the CAC sticker of approval. It carries excellent detail for the grade level with richly golden toned original surfaces. A very appealing example that we believe may grade a touch higher in today's market. A very hard coin to come by in this pleasing mid-grade level.
This Carson City Mint gold piece holds a small mintage of only 6,764. Of this small mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 275 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 25 graded About Uncirculated 53 by NGC. It is also one of only eleven that has earned the sticker of approval by CAC in this grade level for quality.
