Description
This listing is for a combined calendar, stock list and post card for the Chicago Lumber & Coal Co.of Memphis, Tennessee. It is made of heavy cardstock paper which has a little age discoloration
in spots. It is 2 sheets connected at the top with a hole for hanging. All 4 sides have information.
The front consists of a nice looking lady of the time dressed in a yellow drape dress holding a
bouquet of white roses. Under the picture is the caption - Mr. Bull and Br'er Bear will not appear
again until they have recovered from Christmas festivities and have inventoried. Below that is a
3 month calendar of December, 1921 and January and February, 1922. On the back of the first
sheet is a Hardwood Stock List detailing the types and sizes of woods the company carries.
The second sheet front gives Best Wishes to you for Christmas Happiness, talks about the Four
Band Mills they operate in Arkansas City and Hunter, Arkansas and Batchelor and Ravenswood,
Louisiana. At the bottom is a tear off post card to be used for sending for quotes on wood. The
back of the second sheet continues on with the stock list of types and sizes of woods and the
back of the postcard. This is really a unique piece of advertising and is in very good shape. It
measures 9 7/8 inches long and is 5 1/8 inches wide. Other than the age discoloration, the
front page bottom corners are bent slightly, the woman picture on the front has a corner crease
on the bottom left side and there is the remains of what was once probably a price sticker on
the back top right of the second page. Please see the pictures. It displays very well.
