COIN DESCRIPTION
****WARNING****
This coin is very deeply toned and is not for the faint of heart.  The coin's appearance is very dark unless viewed under a strong direct light source.  I have uploaded two sets of photos.  In the first set I flooded the coin with light to expose the rainbow colors on the coin.  The second set of photos are much darker but do a much better job representing the in hand appearance of the coin.
Both sides display rich shades of cherry, emerald green, gunmetal blue, violet, and burnt orange.  It is extremely rare to find a 1955 Jefferson with rainbow toning.  They typical 1955 is dark, unattractive, and plagued by remnant planchet flaws.  And while this coin is dark with some planchet roughness, the toning sets this coin apart and dare I say, even makes the coin pretty!

I am not a professional dealer but have been an avid collector of toned coins for 10+ years.  I am a member of the ANA and was a member of the TCCS (Toned Coin Collectors Society).  All of my E-Bay offerings are photographed by myself, and great care is taken to ensure that the photo accurately reflects the actual appearance of the coin.  It is important to note that when you view an oversized photograph of a coin, the flaws become magnified in much the same way as if you were viewing the coin under a loupe.

With respect to grade, I stand behind the professional opinions of the graders at NGC, PCGS, and ANACS.  However, I will give my opinion regarding the grade from time to time.  In the event that I offer a raw coin, grading will be very conservative and should not be considered a professional opinion.
