19th C. China Brass 4.5" Box, Embossed Decoration, Carved Jade Medallion

This listing is for a lovely late 19th Century Chinese embossed brass box with carved jade/jadite medallion inset in center top. The box is hinged with tight hinge that opens and closes correctly. Box is lined with a cedar wood interior possibly originally intended for cigarettes. The exterior body has an embossed design on all four sides and there are four Chinese coin shaped medallions with one at each corner with Calligraphy writing. The center medallion is celadon colored jade carved with pierced design and inset in a polished brass bezel. Marked on base "China" which pre-dates 1891.
Measures 4 1/2" long, 3 5/8" wide and 1 1/2" deep. Weighs 12 ounces.
This nice box is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minor signs of normal wear.
