    Description

.Circa 1870's fold-out sales brochure advertising Fairbanks Standard Scales. 5 5/8" tall and 15 1/2" long when fully opened. Printed on both sides of bright yellow paper, this brochure is in such amazing condition- as clean as the day it was printed over 140 years ago. This advertising piece came out of a large collection of business ephemera from Carhart & Curd, a hardware store in Macon, Georgia that ceased business long before 1900. The printers of this booklet were Baker & Godwin, No 1 Spruce St., NY. There were probably a stack of these available for the taking in the hardware store- just like the hardware stores of today. The back side of the brochure is printed to advertise the retailer in Macon. The little line drawings were taken from engravings and show the various scales in great detail. This is a wonderful piece of scale memorabilia in exceptional condition- what a great framed piece it would be! We ship paper items in stiff packaging.
