  • Condition: See Photos...As is typical with many of the antique Chinese pieces, where applicable some of the hardware may have been replaced. There is general wear, and may be some shrinkage and age cracks that is typical for a piece this old, especially considering the climate difference. We feel these flaws add to the character of the piece and are preferable to replacement during restoration, Sometimes it is necessary to repair or replace certain components of the furniture, but that is typically done with antique wood. We try to be as clear as possible in the photos attached, however we are limited in the number of photos we can include, so it may not be possible to show every detail.     Antique Chinese Document Storage Box

    This is a nice small wood box that has metal trim pieces on the corners for reinforcement and pm other areas for more decorative purposes.The lid had a low humpback shape.
    Inside the box is a removable wood tray, as well as a narrow wood letter holder with 3 pierced carved circles.
    The box has a look, but there is no key and it is no linger functional. A secondary lock could also have been uses with the hasp on the front. Each end has a nice metal drop handle
    The hinges are original and are fastened with metal nails.
    Overall the box is in nice condition with some normal wear. There is a little loss od some metal ar the bottom of the back left corner.
