    Description

    An antique Chinese Qing black lacquered wood, lidded box modeled as a duck dating from the later 19th century. The duck is sitting with its legs resting beneath its body which forms the box. The lid is mostly the duck’s upper body with carved feathers, the neck bends gently back resting on its wings.
    A similar one recently sold in red had glass eyes, this one has an odd yellow color arounds its eyes, unsure if this is original to the piece or the color was meant to act alongside the glass cover which is no longer present.
    Measurements: 7.25" long / 4.25" tall / 3" wide
    There is damage on the tail, appears to have been glued back together by the prior owner...Lacquer has worn out on the edges showing a reddish color underneath, some gilding can also be appreciated on some of the crevices.
