    Description

    Beautiful antique oval brass openwork covered box with handle. This hand made box was originally created to store betel nuts, spices, seeds etc. The box is elaborately engraved and embossed on the sides with a floral scroll design and domed openwork lid. It is in very good condition with some wear and tear due to age and use. There is an old solder repair on the hinge and verdigris / polish residue in the interior. The brass carrying handle rests loosely to the side and has a carved wooden grip. The hinged lid opens and closes neatly. Please see all photos.
