Antique Moroccan Handmade Tribal Berber KOHL Mascara BOTTLE and APPLICATOR
This is an antique Kohl Applicator from the hill tribes of Morocco. I bought it myself in Morocco in 1999.
The material appears to be wood but I am unsure...and also unsure what kind of wood.
This was used to apply the traditional black powder mascara or KOHL. The hole at the top was used to store the Kohl, and the applicator rests inside of the hole. A wonderful antique to add to your collection.
Both sides has a silver circular tribal pattern on them which appears to be painted.
The bottle itself is just under 4" tall, 2" wide and 1.25" deep. The applicator is approx 4.15" long. With the applicator inside, the bottle and applicator measure just under 5.5" high.
