THIS LISTING IS FOR A GORGEOUS ANTIQUE ORIENTAL GILT LACQUERED WOODEN BOX DECORATED WITH A CLOISONNE PLAQUE, c.1880 - 1900.
THIS ATTRACTIVE WOODEN BOX IS DECORATED ON ALL FOUR SIDES AND TOP WITH AN INTRICATE GILT DESIGN ON THE BLACK LACQUER BODY. THE BOX IS FURTHER EMBELLISHED WITH A LARGE DECORATIVE CLOISONNE PLAQUE INLAID IN THE LID. THE TOP LIFTS UP TO CONCEAL A DEEP INNER BOX.
THE PIECE IS IN NICE ANTIQUE CONDITION, THERE ARE SOME MINOR NICKS AND WAVINESS ON ONE CORNER (SEE PHOTOS). THE LID OPENS AND CLOSES PROPERLY AND THE HINGE WORKS CORRECTLY.
MEASURES 7 1/2" HIGH, 11 3/4" LONG AND 7 3/4" DEEP.
WEIGHS 7 POUNDS.
