Antique Sailboat handmade

Description

Offered is a handmade, nautical ship model of a two masted sailboat with fore and aft rigging. A stand is included into which it nestles beautifully. It’s a unique example of early American, folk art in the nautical genre.
It is made of pine, mahogany, and various woods covered in original paint. The sails are of real canvas. I have had the sailboat since the sixties and it from a single owner who told me her grandfather had made it around 1910.
It measures approximately 36 x 30 x 8 inches and weighs about 10 lbs.
The overall condition is Very Good to Excellent with some of the rigging in need of restring if you care. However, I prefer it as is. There also is a charming launch boat on the back-all hand carved. We are a family with strong nautical roots to the Chesapeake Bay so I know and appreciate the workmanship here..
Because the sailboat is fragile this will be hand packed by our shippers who are experienced in shipped antique items from local auctions. They ship out of York PA. or we use an UPS shipper who ships from here in Mount Joy. Everything is insured, of course. Great care will be taken in packing it and great care should be taken in unpacking it.
