    Prior to their first Ed Sullivan television show, the Beatles recorded a set that would be shown on their 3rd television appearance on 23 February, 1964. They would sing “Twist and Shout”, “Please Please Me”, and “I Want To Hold Your Hand.” The Beatles were the first musical act to appear on three consecutive Ed Sullivan shows.
