ALL FOUR BEATLESCLOTHING SWATCH DISPLAY
+ 50TH ANNIVERSARY ENVELOPE
A unique 3 1/2 inch x 5 3/4 inch by 1 inch thick, clear lucite holder with colorful graphics (Beatles in a paddock of high grass, an old cricket pitch) during the 22 August, 1969 final Beatles photo shoot. The artwork background is of a computerized watercolor print of that photo. The display contains actual swatches of material taken from clothing worn/owned by all four Beatles. I cannot offer a large swatch of material at this price, but you can be assured that this is a unique display. Rarely will you get the chance to own a piece of clothing from all 4 Beatles at one time!
This display comes with a coa card on each swatch and a dark blue, velvet like, zipper case for storage.
You will also receive a special envelope, matching the display, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Beatles last photo shoot (August 22, 1969). The envelope is postmarked August 22, 2019 in Monument, MA. Great display set.
GEORGE HARRISON-swatch from a black , with color pig design, tie owned by George Harrison. George signed this in black sharpie pen in 1989-90 for the recipient (assistant tour manager and head of security for Eric Clapton, 1973-96 and Harrison friend Alfie O'Leary). Sold through a Christie's (London) auction. After careful inspection and consideration it was determined that a small fragment of material (reverse tip) could be removed without compromising the integrity of the tie. The removal was done by a professional seamstress.
RINGO STARR-swatch from a white cotton tie, owned by Ringo Starr and donated to charity. Ringo signed the tie in the late 70's, early 80's era. After careful inspection and consideration it was determined that a small fragment of material (on the interior liner) could be removed without compromising the integrity of the tie. The removal was done by a professional seamstress.
JOHN LENNON-swatch of a grey liner from a pair of black trousers/pants worn by John in 1967. Originally acquired in the early 80's directly from Gordon Millings whose father was the owner of Millings & Son tailor shop. This was the famous tailor shop used by the Beatles, many movie stars, and other important music figures. Acquired through the British auction house of Cooper and Owen. The trousers have the original Millings and Son bevo label and the additional label with hand written notes with a "John Lennon July 1967." After careful inspection and consideration it was determined that a small fragment of material (left by the tailor) could be removed without compromising the integrity of the trousers. The material was removed from the cuff area. The removal was done by a professional seamstress.
PAUL MCCARTNEY-swatch from a dark gray, black velvet collar, suit coat worn by Paul circa 1963-64. Acquired through the British auction house of Cooper and Owen. The suit coat/jacket has the tailor label removed and was probably donated to a charity, at some time, as the jacket is autographed twice (lapel area and interior liner). After careful inspection and consideration it was determined that a small fragment of material (left by the tailor) could be removed without compromising the integrity of the coat. The material was removed from the interior seam area. The removal was done by a professional seamstress.
