Chinese Export Porcelain Mandarin Palette Famille Rose Leaf Shape Cosmetic Box 19th Century
The leaf shaped box decorated in Mandarin palette colors with court ladies at the center.
A border of flowers and leaves and the sides of the box with rose and gilt scrolls.
The interior molded with ten compartments and eight decorated with flower or leaf sprigs.
The ridges in gilt.
Unmarked as usual
With orange peel texture on interior of lid and base.
Slight burnt orange in the firing on unglazed rims of both box and lid.
Chinese. 19th century.
Measures 1 1/4" high, 6 1/2" x 4" approx.
