    Description

Made in USA- Fender Lead 2, converted to Strat Style - Vintage
~This guitar is basically a Hardtail Strat, with its own nuances and sound. The guitar has a slightly smaller body than a Strat, but is the same overall length. It plays incredibly well. The paint is completely original with its natural relic defectiveness/wear. Paint checking, paint wear, paint fading. The paint does not flake off. It looks the same as it was when I got it. Made in 1979'.
    - When I got the guitar in 2002', it had already been routed out for the extra pickup, and the pickguard had already been modified for the 3rd pickup. It was an incomplete project guitar. I installed a set of Bill Lawrence pickups; Bridge L290, and middle/neck 280'spickups. These are great sounding pickups and are Noise Free with absolutely no-hum. The 5-way pickup selector gives you all the Strat sounds. I had a Brass Nut installed (there was no nut). The tuners appear to be original to the guitar.
-Included in this Sale; a) Modified
    (improved)
Lead II Guitar. b) Hard Shell Case. c) The original pair of Fender Lead II pickups,
with 1 extra basic Stratocaster pickup
    .
-This guitar is being Sold As-is. Any variations/modifications seen or not seen, of and to the guitar, will be accepted by the buyer. This guitar is in perfectly functional and playable condition.
    Noted Items;  a)
There is no tone-capacitor currently in the circuitry of the tone pot/potentiometer, but it can easily be added by a knowledgeable guitar tech, for other tonal variations. Currently, when the tone pot is dialed down, it slightly cleans-up/thins the overall sound, but then when it's fully turned-up again it enables the full tone of the pickups to be heard.  (see pic #7).
    b)
It appears that the headstock's tuning key
    ferrule
holes have been slightly enlarged at one time, to enable better quality tuners to be installed, but the original tuners and ferrules have been installed and secured to operate with no issues. This is something that was done prior to me having the guitar, and this is the way that I've used it for 20 years.
