Fine Large Old Vintage Chinese Cloisonne Humidor Box Jar ~Blue Flowers ~Stand

Description

This auction is for a beautiful, large old hand crafted Chinese cloisonné humidor and vintage stand.  The humidor is round with a large lid and decorated with a blue background and flowers all around.  The design is repeated on the lid and the lid is topped with a brass foo dog finial.  The flowers are yellow, green, red, white and blue.  The gold cloisonne wires form a pattern in the lovely blue background.  There is a bright blue border around the base of the humidor.  The inside and bottom of the humidor are blue enamel.  The metal base and borders are made of brass.
The humidor is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, damages or repairs.  The lid fits nicely on the top.   The finial is tight.  There is very minor pitting and perhaps tiny bits of enamel loss as is common with older cloisonne.  There is very slight enamel loss on the inside & bottom.  There are a few stains on the bottom inside.  I purchased the humidor in the early 1980s in San Francisco at a fine Asian Antique shop.
A vintage Chinese square shaped footed wood stand is included in the auction but is not original to the humidor.  The substantial stand displays the humidor beautifully.  The stand is in excellent vintage condition with a few surface scratches and paint
rubs or loss.  There is a
curved
spot in the display area that is not covered in stain but is not noticeable when displaying the humidor.  There are four legs that curve under and have beautiful hand carvings.  There are felt pads on the bottom of the stand which can be removed.  The stand is early 20th century and has "Made in Hong Kong" incised in the wood on the bottom.

The design & colors of the humidor are lovely and the quality is excellent.  The humidor is a substantial size and displays beautifully on the vintage Chinese stand.  The cloisonne humidor will make a lovely addition to a collection of Chinese arts & antiques.  The humidor would also be a wonderful addition to a fine collection of tobacciana.
