ARTIFACT:
This is a great pair of early (circa 1860s-1870s) hand-wrought cowboy spurs. These spurs were found in Texas and have an engraved wheat or vine design on the side of each heel band. They have shorter shanks and simple star-shaped rowels. The spurs are still on their original leathers (boot straps), but one has a small section that has come unattached (it is however still present).
VINTAGE:
Circa 1860s-1870s.
SIZE:
Approximately 6” in length and 3-1/8” in width and 1-1/2” in height each (not including strap length).
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
Iron, leather.
ATTACHMENT:
Straps with buckles.
MARKINGS:
None.
