    Description

    Japanese Smoking Box Mother of Pearl Abalone Black Lacquer
    Lid has inlaid fishing boat scene with seagulls and writing.  Silver metal ashtray fits inside, small rectangle open space and loose lid with butterfly design.
    Flat bottom box measures 11 3/4 inches wide, 7 inches long and 2 inches height.  Some of the black lacquer is cloudy, there are some minor surface scratches, no missing inlay, and bottom is rough surface painted black.
    There are no cracks in the lacquer, one inlay flower in upper right corner is missing a petal by design.  This is an imperfection by the maker.
