Spiral-bound Calendar and Planner
“
Plates” refers to “photographic plates”, as Linda McCartney was an accomplished and prolific photographer.
This “Diary” or Calendar/Planner was produced in 1977 (for 1978 use) and is copyrighted by MPL Communications Ltd., Paul and Linda McCartney’s production company. The last page lists this copyright information, and MPL is printed in red on the rear cover.
It measures 9 ½-inches X 9 ½-inches x ¾ inch.
This Calendar/Planner is UNUSED and has 60 pages with text and/or photographs printed on both sides of the pages.
There are both color and B&W photographs.
It was printed and bound in the Netherlands for sale worldwide.
The calendar portion of the Diary has spaces next to each date for planning notations. That is followed by 4 lined-pages entitled “
Notes
”. That is followed by 7 lined-pages entitled “
Addresses and Telephone Numbers
”.

The images include Paul and Linda, their children, Denny Laine (and Wings), fruit, “flora and fauna” (including Linda’s beloved Appaloosa horses), Scottish village street signs and people on the street, store fronts and signs. There are also a number of shots taken on Paul and Linda’s farm/estate in Kintyre, in the Scottish Highlands. (

”(Little, Brown & Company, 2016), I gained a real appreciation for the tremendous role and influence Linda played in Paul’s life and in her devotion to her own interests, particularly her photography and her vegetarian cooking.)

CONDITION.
It o
nly
has
a few
very light/slight
indentions (like from fingernails) and a
very slight/light
bend
(I say “bend” because it’s hardly a crease at all)
on the front cover.
The rear cover has a
VERY TINY
crease on the bottom left corner.
It appears that the calendar in this auction was a
COMPLIMENTARY ITEM FROM MPL COMMUNICATIONS
. It comes with its
ORIGINAL SHIPPING BOX from MPL
.
The label has the printing: “
WITH THE
COMPLIMENTS OF MPL
COMMUNICATIONS
”
and the MPL logo.
The
SHIPPING BOX is in
also in EXCELLENT
CONDITION
.
Yes, it has discolorations from the shipping tape used, but that is how it was prepared to be shipped by MPL.
There is
NO PRICE
printed on it or inside it and
NO BAR CODE
on it, so I assume this calendar was COMPLIMENTARY ONLY from MPL and was not made for sale.
I got this from a friend who had
only
2 copies. These are the
ONLY COPIES
that I’ve ever seen,
and this was the only one with the shipping box!
