Old Asian Cinnabar Box

nice item in good condition. this item is heavy, so i think it's metal brass. i really don't know the procedure of cinnabar so i really can't tell you much. the guy i bought if from said it was a nice piece and is asian, and i deal with him all the time. looking at the item i will have to agree with him. there is dust and dirt in the tiny crevices. which i think add to the charm of this item. probably wouldn't be to much work to take a brush and clean it all up. it's a beautiful asian landscape with two people walking across a bridge. the inside is not enameled and has a brushed look to the brass. there really is nothing to note about condition, but it's not new, and doesn't look new. i'm just saying no chip or damage to the red overlay, or dent's to the metal. size about 5.5 inches across, and 1.25 inches high.
Please keep in mind that most items I sell are old and vintage so so there may be some things like odors or light soiling that might be there I try to point out things that i notice but please ask questions before you purchase something if this is a concern to you an I will personally check on an item for you. I don't smoke or have any pets so there usually won't be those type of odors with the items i sell
