    Description

    Up for sale is a wonderful old 35", hand sewn, stuffed lizard.  It was made by the Bamum tribe, in Cameroon Africa. The bead work is amazing and comes in red, black, green, blue and white colors.  It's also decorated with cowrie shells, from the head to the tail.  The mouth has wooden teeth and the paws have wooden claws.  Some of the claws are missing.  If you look closely at the last photo, you'll see an old repair along the seam, hand sewn with purple thread.  I believe all of the beads and shells are intact.  The work done on this piece is beautiful.  The bottom of the lizard is made out of some kind of fabric, which looks like it might have been hand woven.  This fabric has staining in spots that look very old.  A very unusual piece.  PLEASE NOTE:  If I over charge for shipping by any more than a couple of dollars, then I always refund the difference.
