Description
Scale made by Public Scale Company Chicago. It has been repainted red, decades ago and is fresh off location complete with scratches. This scale is in working condition. It give the weight every time you drop a copper penny in the coin slot. The original glass is in good condition as shown. It has the original back door and cash box door. The gray porcelain base is cast iron. This scale has 5 matching serial numbers, 1784 stamped on the cash box door, back door, cabinet, mechanism and on the plate behind the mirror. Both working locks are new and have keys. This scale will work with a copper penny as originally manufactured or it will work with any coin or token up to the size of a quarter. The step plate is aluminum. The base measures about 21 1/2" x 25". Has instructions inside the back door. This scale has been rebuilt with a few Mills and Watling scale parts as shown. It stands about 66 inches tall. This scale has a capacity of 300 pounds. This item may be inspected in Genoa Illinois before the end of the auction.
