This is a rare
Vintage Beautiful Miniature Chinese Jewelry Box.
This is absolutely the smallest version of this box I’ve ever come across.
The box is about 7 inches tall (which includes the handle lying down) 5
1/8
inches wide and 3
5/8
inches deep (does not include door handles, lock or lock holding pieces).
Thin Raised Stones (?) decorate the front doors as Colorful Flowers.
Decorative Butterfly Hinges.
Decorative Fish Door Pules.
All 8 corners have Decorative Brass Coverings.
Inside there’s 3 Beautifully Cloth Lined Drawers.
The paper label on the bottom says,
ART NO. 297-56F (this is handwritten and some of it is difficult to make out)
MADE IN THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA  .
Depending on the position of the drawer‘s movable handles (positioned left or right), the jewelry box doors alignment to each other will be affected.
On the inside edges of the doors there are what looks to be the number 8 written in gold color and a corresponding 8 on one side of the inside edge of the box frame.
There are several small indentations on the back and a mark on the back that goes down to the wood, a few indentations here and there around the box and the movable drawer handles have some ripples or light bends.
Beyond that the Miniature Chinese Jewelry Box is in overall good condition.
I’ve taken lots of photos so please consider them part of the description.
Also included is a working Chinese Lock and Key. The lock and key, which are either solid brass or copper that is shinny brass plated (both lock and key are non-magnetic), have some tarnish spots here and there. Although NOT exactly the same, the simple dotted pattern on the lock is similar to the dotted pattern on the jewelry box.
NOTE: The first photo was taken with a flash to be able to show the detail in the dotted designs on the brass. The wood is actually a darker color as can be seen in the other photos.
