    Description

Scratchbuilt Museum quality Model WWII Coast Guard cutter USCGC Campbell WPG-32
This ship is a US Coast Guard cutter named USCGC Campbell (WPG-32)
She was a world famous ship and on her sailed, for 11 years, a world renowned Coastie who went by the name of K9C Sinbad.
Commissioned in 1936 as the USCGC George W. Campbell (WPG-32), her name was shortened to Campbell in 1937. She earned the title "Queen of the Seas" during a 46-year career that took her through World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam War.
As for Sinbad, his WWII service on board earned him was awarded the following service ribbons: American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Navy Occupation Service Medal, which were attached to Sinbad's collar.
I have no information on who built this. This was purchased from a North side Chicago estate.
It appears that the hull is a combination of wood and metal. Some parts are metal that may have been purchased in the past 40 years from a model shop -the life boats, spot lights, cannons and the life boat rigging. The ship measures 21 1/2". It is mounted on a hardwood base that has a channel for a glass enclosure. No glass is included. The base measures 2'. I can not find any models that match this ship. The newer Campell's have significant differences compared to this model.
The ship shows much better in person and is a great statement piece. Light dust from being displayed. Paint is in good shape. It is missing one prop and anchor. One metal life boat rigging and a spot light are damage, but should be able to be repaired.
Due to the fragility, this is SOLD AS-IS with no return. Ever effort will be made to pack it so there is no damage in shipping.
Local pick up near Chicago is encouraged.
