RARE, ONE OF A KIND FIND
Absolutely sumptuous chocolate-brown, vintage,
candle-box from Ethiopia. Hand-carved from a
single piece of wood, deeply chiseled geometric designs
surround this beautiful, functional piece.
Leather hinges and closure add to the simple, raw feel.
I believe this might be from the 1940s-1960s.
There is still a slight scent of sandalwood inside.
It really is a standout piece and would fit in well
as an accent piece for a Mid-Century Modern,
or fully ethnic motif. Hard to part with,
but eager to see it going to a new home
where it will be equally appreciated.
