    Description

    Maker
    : This superb handmade plate almost certainly comes from North Africa, perhaps Morocco or Tunisia. The region has produced wonderful brightly colored glazed pottery wares since around 75 AD.
    On the reverse is an unknown signature or backstamp in what appears to be Arabic and a paper handwritten label with the numbers 190 DH and 200/3.
    Design
    : The striking plate features a bold blue geometric pattern.
    There is a small hole in the rim for a hanger.
    Size
    : The plate is 9 7/8 inches wide, 1 3/4 tall and weighs an impressive 1 pound 12 ounces.
    Condition
    : It's in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, repairs, stains or discoloration. It has many of the tiny painting inconsistencies and pinpoint marks that are typical of handmade North African ceramics and add to their beauty. There are a few tiny spots of missing paint and several small firing flaws on the center. These are all visible in the photos and are also typical of North African pottery.
    This gorgeous wall plate would make a great gift or a wonderful addition to any ceramics collection.
