Description
Vintage Fragata Espanola Ano 1780 Wooden Spanish Warship Model Ship Boat 24"x27".There are scratches, scuffs, some broken pieces. Some net rigging and sails need some repair and/or need to be re-hung. There's possible small missing pieces that I'm unaware of, some discoloration, missing paint spots randomly throughout, dust, dings and dents. That all being said, cleaned and fixed up, it would display very nicely!
*** APPROXIMATE *** Measurements:
Width: 27"

This nice vintage frigate model was hand crafted sometime in approximately the 1960's. Named “Frigata Espana,” the large naval sailboat sits on a wooden base decorated with a small plaque which reads “Frigata Espana Ano 1780.” The main boat itself features lots of very nice, fine authentic and original details.
The model vessel would resonate with sailors or other seafaring enthusiasts. There is evidence that this ship was one of the Spanish ships that fought in the battle of Cape St. Vincent, which took place off the southern coast of Portugal on January 16, 1780 during the American Revolutionary War. It was one of the opening battles of the Anglo-Spanish War, as part of the French Revolutionary Wars, where a British fleet under Admiral Sir John Jervis defeated a greatly superior Spanish fleet under Admiral Don José de Córdoba y Ramos near Cape St. Vincent, Portugal.
