VINTAGE ORIGINAL UNOPENED 1964 BEATLES HOHNER HARMONICA IN ORIGINAL PACKAGEOffered is a 1964 unopened, vintage “The Beatles” Hohner harmonica in the original retail package. The ½ x 1 x 4-inch silver and gold metal harmonica, made in Germany by M. Hohner, is mounted at the bottom center of a 7½ x 11-inch cardboard hanger card in a clear plastic window, below the 1 x 1½ x 4-inch cardboard box printed with the legend “The Beatles Harmonica M. Hohner” in white and black on orange on the lid.
The lid also features small photos of (from left to right) Ringo Starr, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison along with facsimile signatures printed in black on blue. This is one of the harmonicas that was produced with a printing error on the packaging. The signatures of Paul and George are reversed, with Paul’s signature appearing under George’s photo, and George’s signature under Paul’s photo.
The box and harmonica are mounted at the bottom of the card, which features the logo “The Beatles” reversed out in white across the top center. The center of the card is printed in green and black on orange, with facsimile signatures of the four “mop tops” at the left, the caption “Get the Beat – With your Hohner Harmonica” at the right, and a group photo of The Beatles in the center, from left to right, Ringo, George, John and Paul, in their classic early 1960s jackets and ties. The price, .98, is printed in white and green in the upper right corner, while the caption “Two Original Beatle Songs and Instructions” is printed in orange across the bottom. The back of the card features instructions “Here’s How to Play your Hohner Harmonica” along with a photo of John Lennon playing his harmonica at a Beatles recording session.
