ITEM DESCRIPTION:
White Raven is pleased to offer (and will consider reasonable offers for) this beautiful, unique old large round wooden lidded box, with Brass banding and top ring and carved handles, I believe from Chinese origin.  There is a penny-sized Wax Seal under the lid which, I believe, has a Chinese symbol on it.  I can read only one word which is "MISSION" but am unable to find any information regarding the maker.  It's about 6.75" tall with a 16.5" diameter, unfortunately I am unable to tell what type of wood this is but the patina is lovely, the box appears quite old.  There are some gaps between a couple of the slats but I don't see any major breaks or damage.  The patina is lovely, the carved handles are interesting (Asian design?) and, overall, it's in very good vintage/antique condition.  Please view photos for a more thorough description, and email should you have questions.
