    Description

WALKING STICK, AFRICAN GENUINE, VINTAGE HAND-CARVED WOODEN TRADITIONAL CANE, 33 INCHES LONG, WITH HAND-CARVED FACE BELOW THE ANGLED HANDLE.
PURCHASED IN THE 1980s FROM PULA PULA ANTIQUES SHOP IN JOHANNESBURG SOUTH AFRICA, WHO OBTAINED IT DIRECTLY FROM THE MASTER AFRICAN ARTIFACTS MUSEUM COLLECTION OF FRANK A. GAUDIN (1938-2011) WHO, IN TURN, OBTAINED IT DIRECTLY FROM AN OLD KALAHARI KUNG BUSHMAN OR WOMAN. It had been in use, probably years or decades before, and is still in used but nearly mint condition.
Purchased on a business trip to South Africa in the 1980s with a large selection of other African artifacts, it's been stored in our factory ever since, and is still in the same pristine, near mint working condition.  If requested, I could include a copy of the original receipt, and a copy of Frank Gaudin's BUSHMAN'S HUNTING BAG Guide-- with detailed descriptions of many other artifacts I purchased (and including those I didn't purchase).
Canadian-born South African Frank Gaudin was, sadly to say, tortured and murdered on his African Artifacts Museum at Blaauwbank, Randfontein, Gauteng South Africa on June 4, 2011, at the age of 73.  He started his African Artifacts Museum in 1966, and supplied many Johannesburg antique and artifact dealers for decades.
