Wonderful Carved Mother of Pearl & Silver Box Depicting The Crucifixion. C 1800.
This wonderful late 18th, early 19th century mother-of-pearl and silver mounted snuff box is a wonderful little piece of history,
These boxes are quite a rarity these days and very expensive so this is a great chance to get a super piece at a very reasonable price.
there is a wonderful graphic of the crucifixion on the top. The silver mountings are unmarked and are all engraved. It has some wear and slight warping to the box and it does not always close properly all the way ( it does close with an extra little push at the end ) it needs some slight adjustment to the hinge, otherwise nice antique condition.
