zippo d-day Normandy 50 years allied heroes mint condition original packaging. WWII all original pieces and bobs included. Items sold as is. Please view photographs and read description.Limited edition D-Day Normandy 50 year anniversary 1944-1994 allied heroes collector’s edition. Four bronze Zippo lighters with 4 great allied military generals. Dwight D Eisenhower, General Omar Bradley, General Charles DeGaulle, and General B. L. Montgomery. Each lighter includes it’s selected leader’s signature. The bottom of each lighter is engraved with the following, “ Zippo Bradford PA Made in USA.” 3 of the lighters are completely sealed and remain unused. The seal on the General Omar Bradley lighter is still in place but broken, however the wick appears unburnt which leads me to believe it is indeed unused still but I am no expert. Eisenhower lighter does have scratched orange seal on back but it is in fact still sealed. This was an estate find. Being a WWII fan and history buff it is very hard for me to let these go. My hope is they wind up in the hands who can spruce them up properly and share them with the world. The lighters have absolutely been handled but remain unused, possibly not Bradley lighter. Items are sold as is. Excellent condition include the original storage tin. It does show some normal signs of wear and tear but overall is in wonderful condition. The sides of the container include the names of the beaches the Normandy Allied landings occurred at, Gold, Juno, Sword, Utah, and Omaha. “Zippo The beaches of Normandy.” “Lifetime guarantee. Zippo manufacturing company 33 Barbour Street Bradford, Pennsylvania 16701. Made in USA. Upon removing the lid of the original canister you will find a brief description of each General as well as the included key chain. The lighters are in excellent shape for being nearly 30 years old. They could use some tlc, a good polish and shine but other than that there are no major tarnish marks on any of the lighters, the keychain however shows a slight mark but nothing unforgivable. When you remove the black felt backing holding the lighters and keychain you will find specialized Zippo cartridges for the protection and display of the lighters and keychain. To find all these items together in this set, in this condition is very rare. It represents a valuable collector’s item or piece not only for the brand Zippo but also the history behind the memorabilia is the most icon war in human history, World War 2 which was very much a fight of good verses evil, right verses wrong. It determined the moral values of almost the entire world for years to come. Had these people, not been such a brave generation who knows the world we would be living in today. This war determined our morality and humanity for years to come.
